Rising to the Occasion stands over 10 feet tall and is an inspirational sculpture. The heavy plate-steel trapazoid base was designed as a counter weight for the soaring ladder. Its form stimulates the viewer and provides an unyielding foundation for the figure supporting the ladder. Positioning this figure behind and below the ladder creates the desired result for a flow of rain water to wash over its arms. This water will carry a calculated amount of natural patina to the figures arms, chest, and leg. The stain trail represents the sacrifice of those who "Rise to the Occasion" |
